#TrumpCard I agree with going to the USA, but how to go about Job prospects and Green card?

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 10:08 reply

Hi Ankit, with emphasis increasing exponentially on high skilled graduates, your job prospects in the USA are limitless. You can get the Optional practical training. With this, you can get real-time job experience in your field. You are eligible to apply if you have completed one year of your studies in the USA. After graduating you can then apply for a work visa. If you have an MS degree or a Ph.D. you have a greater chance of getting it. As far as green cards are concerned, graduates with a job have a higher chance of getting green card approvals as the emphasis is now given to people with higher studies.

Surely they are emerging trends and companies recruit skilled workers for these fields. If you match the requirements then you can definitely go for it. As long as you have adequate skill there will always be better job opportunities for you, be it AI or Mechanical engineering.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 11:49 reply

Hi Nilansh, thanks for asking the question. The rules regarding the H1B visas are changing. Now skilled workers will have more chances of securing an H1B visa. So if you can pick up adequate skills in your respective field, you will definitely land that H1B visa. It does not necessarily depend on the university you are passing out from. The emphasis is on pure skill and competency.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 12:26 reply

Hi Namrata, in the next 10 years, projections show that the US will need 8,600 interior designers. This is based on the retirement of 5,600 existing interior designers and the growing need for more. So there will always be a good scope in the USA. The best bet is to give your GRE, get a Master's degree and go for a job.

What is the oppourtunity of H1-B for people who have worked in India and are going to US to do MS and job?

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 12:34 reply

Hi Sai Anirudh, having work experience will be taken into consideration for your MS. Though the number of people getting H1B Visa who directly go there for a job has decreased, the number of Indian MS students who have got jobs after MS in the US has increased. So the best choice is to take GRE, get an MS degree and you have a high chance of getting a job.

what is the best time to take gre?2nd year or 4th year

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 12:21 reply
Hi Sai Vamsi, Greetings from GREedge! Top Admit = Good Profile (Academic Achievements, CGPA, SOP, LOR) + GRE Score + TOEFL/IELTS score. GRE is not the only factor that facilitates to get a top admit. There are other factors too (as mentioned above). Which means, If you take the GRE early, gain clarity on the university you want to apply, your profile can be moulded accordingly. Thus, if you have an option to take it in 2nd year or 4th year, better to take it in 2nd year. If you are already in 3rd or 4th year, do not delay any more and take it now. Hope this helps. Happy Learning :)

  • Is Trump's aggressive strategies towards Chinese students benefit us given Chinese are the second largest number of students after Indians and they will be applying less and universities like UCB and all which are Chinese dominant will be easy to get in?

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 12:36 reply

Very astute observation. It is true that the number of students from China studying in the US has decreased due to several reasons. Chinese students made up 19.4% of the total number of students in UCB 2016 and it dropped to about 17.8% in 2018. But the colleges and universities in the USA are not constrained by seats or by the ethnicity of the applicants. The emphasis is always on the competency of the applicant and the quality of their profile. So focussing on individual profiles would be more beneficial in landing successful admits!

      2. Permanent residency: The chances of getting a PR is easier in Canada

I am pursuing B.Tech in Cemical Engineering, and I and looking for the master's in environmental management. How you comment on the course choice and which university, country would be better? which country is preferable for MS in environmental management - netherland or canada or usa or australia? whic country is best for MIM course after chemical engineering?

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 14:26 reply

Hi Bhavya, thank you for posting your query here. The three courses that you have mentioned are quite different from each other. The choice of countries and universities can only be confirmed after finalizing on the course or program. The USA generally has better opportunities for Environmental management or chemical engg courses. Also, there are courses in Engineering management which is a good blend of technical and management courses. Get in touch with our experts for better help in the course and university selection.

What can we do to compensate if we have low GPA? to get into good Universities in CANADA . Kindly Help.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 14:00 reply

Hi, thanks for posting your query here. Canadian universities are academic-oriented. Landing a top admit in Canada with low GPA can be difficult. This drastically reduces the options you have in Canada. There might be better options in the US where you can look for better opportunities and admits. You can also compensate for your low GPAs with a high GRE score and a good profile. A strong SOP can help you in boosting your chances for getting a top admit in the USA.

Job opportunity after MS in business analytics In UK

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 14:18 reply

Hi Prashast, analytics is a booming field in Europe and there are a lot of opportunities. After graduating from your university in the UK you will have a stay-back period of 3 months within which you will need to find a job. Applying for jobs in other countries is advisable during this period. But the number of Universities offering Business analytics courses are less. You need to shortlist the universities that provide the best placement opportunities. Get in touch with our experts to know more about this: http://bit.ly/2HidTWT

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 13:57 reply

Hi Radhika, there are not many options in Physical therapy. There are just a couple like UBC. For more courses, you have to take blended courses like rehabilitation sciences.
In USA, you have a lot of options and universities are much in abundance.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 15:44 reply
Hi omkar, there is no such disparity when one applies for student loans. The only thing that matters is your profile and past background. Also having a good CIBIL score increases your chances of getting that loan.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 17:30 reply

      Hey Shaurya!
The SOP and Letter of Intent are the same. Both of them focus on your aspirations, work experience & why you want to join the university you have applied to.
However, Personal Statement si different, this will focus more on your personal experiences and how motivated you are to take up that course.
Keep in mind that, most PS is a requirement specific to universities while SOP or LOI is a general requirement.

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 17:25 reply

Hi Prerit, most of the Universities do not ask for the certification. The emphasis will not be on the fact that you were in a position of significance rather on how the position came to shape you as a person. The focus should be on the learning points. But having the certificates as a backup just in case does not hurt!

      Hi Yuktha,
You can surely mention them but don't make them your primary pillars supporting your profile.
The main focus on your SOP should be to convince the admission committee that you are the perfect fit for their University.

Hi Vishal, if the projects are not related to the course then it might be a better option to not speak of them at length. You can have small summaries and focus more on the skills that you learned from the projects.

#SOPMasterclass Does not having any major projects affect your SOP to a greater extent?

    • Sat, 08/24/2019 - 19:34 reply

Hi Yuktha, through your SOP the Admission committee wants to know more about you as a person. If you can convince them that you are a motivated individual with high competence without major projects as such, then it is not necessary. However, a good project always adds weight to the SOP. But your overall profile is what matters.

      Hi Kushal,
having backlogs and a low GPA does not mean you won't get an admit in the USA.
The universities in the USA take a lot of things into consideration and your profile is the most important. Your internships, experience, major projects, interest, etc are taken into consideration immensely apart from academic prowess.

I plan to pursue MS in CS (Artificial Intelligence). I've done my B.Tech in Information technology from Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering, New Delhi and secured 73%, but I have dropped a subject in which I had a back log. I got 315 in GRE and although I have not appeared for my IELTS yet, I plan to secure a 7.5 band. I don't have any publications. I'm currently working as Android Developer for the past 1.2 yrs and did the internship of 4 months in the same profile. I have done some minor projects in Android and one with NLP (which is a bit relevant with AI).

#UniversityCatalogue I plan on doing an MS in Electrical Engineering. I have a BTech in EEE from Delhi Technological University, with a 7.82 GPA. Taken GRE with 322 (167Q, 155V, 3.5AW), TOEFL taken with score 104. I have a major project from my final year, with another conference paper under process. I have a research intern, albeit for 3 weeks. I also have a 2-month internship from NTPC Ltd. (with 1 month in a thermal power plant). I have already been placed, and am awaiting my date of joining. Could you recommend some of the universities I can look into?
