Can we take loans from usa ?

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 11:10 reply

Hi Yash, taking loans from USA depends on many features.
Some federal loans are available if you have a student visa and have a relative there to be a co-signer. That person should have a good credit score and must be a permanent resident. But this is not the only option to get loans.

I have seen many people writing that in their SOP and LOR saying that they wish to get admitted into so and so university with appropriate funding. Does writing something like this make sense, and is it of any use?

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 11:24 reply

Hi Akash. There are different essay requirements for different universities. For some universities, there are Scholarship essays that you need to submit in addition to other documents. When i should be done with my GRE and IELTS if i want to apply for fall 2020?

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 11:28 reply

      Hi Karishma,
If you want to apply for Fall 2020, you should be done with your GRE & IELTS by the end of Oct or mid of Nov. of 2019 ( if you want to be eligible for scholarships).
This is because most priority deadlines are on 15 Dec 2019.
For example, for Fall 2020 Computer Science at Arizona State University, the priority deadline is 1st November 2019 and the Final deadline is 1st February 2020.
Similarly, deadlines vary based on courses and University.

I have heard from people that interest is not applied for the first 2 years after taking the loan (i.e., during the period of my Masters). Is this true? Also, is there a limit to the loan amount I can avail? My CGPA is 8.39, GRE score is 319, and my TOEFL score is 105

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 11:40 reply

      Hi Akash,
This is true for particular cases. Remember to cross-check with the terms and conditions of your bank.
There is definitely a limit on the amount you can get and that depends on the bank, your admit and various other factors particular to you.

Is there a higher chance of acceptance into universities if the area of study is rare? I am applying for Masters in HCI. How rare is this?

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 11:51 reply

Hi Bhavyasree. Acceptance rates depend on a lot of factors such as Avg class profiles, the no of applicants and the funding the university has acquired. The rarity of the field might not increase your chances of getting into a university. Also, Masters in HCI is not a rare field as a lot of students apply for the same. Please get in touch with our experts to get a better idea of how to build your profile to get the best admits.

    Q:

    • Sat, 09/28/2019 - 16:35 reply

Hi Swaroopa, a personal essay is simply about who you are and what you have achieved. However, an SOP is a detailed portrayal of your aspirations and your passion for a particular field. It is about why you want to do a particular course.
Universities that demand both are those that desire to see what are your passions, aspirations, and drive is.
For what should be mentioned, it depends on your profile and a deep understanding is needed.

Hi Sailee, an SOP is a document in which you write about yourself and make the first impressions to the admissions committee. It connects your past to the present and describes the learnings that you carry to your future. It is okay to mention about your failures and backlogs in the SOP if you think it has helped you become a better person, professionally. However, there are some universities that do not prefer the mention of backlogs. Please feel free to contact our expert and get more details on the same & find out if you should mention your backlogs depending on your profile and the universities you are targeting.
